How Athletes Can Promote
Themselves for College Recruiting

Many high school athletes
desire to play at the next level, but for the majority the recruiting process
can be very intimidating, costly, and time consuming. Most athletes are not just
noticed by college recruiters and many high school coaches do not have the
contacts, time, or the know how to help an athlete get to the next level.
Ultimately, if an athlete wants to be recruited they must promote themselves.

The first step is to get
noticed, if a coach doesn't know about the athlete they will not be recruited.
Unfortunately there are thousands of games each week and millions of high school
athletes. College sports recruiters do not have the time to visit every game. A
great way to get a recruiters attention is to create a video of your game
highlights. To be successful, your highlights video needs to look professional
and should include your stats, honors, game footage, and your profile. If a
highlights video is done right it has the power to help an athlete earn an
athletic scholarship, and with tuition so high it is really nice to get a little
free help paying for college.

Why spend money on expensive
recruiting services when all it takes is a simple highlights video to stand out?
Coaches have very limited time to spend searching for a great athlete. Creating
a DVD is a quick and cost friendly way of giving the coaches the information
they need while enabling them to actually watch the athlete play.
