Managing Dentist Practices: Create A Good Gameplan For The Business

By: Ed O Keefe

One of the best ways to become successful in managing your dentist practices is to create a good gameplan for your business. A good gameplan will help you double new patients as you are managing your dentist practices. So the more new patients that you have, the more successful you will be in your business. Having this kind of idea is one way to be on top of your dentist practices as you are managing it.

To create this gameplan in managing your dentist practices, come up with goals in your practice. Set goals for: (1) the number of patients you want; (2) the type of patients you want to attract; (3) the number of referrals you want to generate; and (4) the worth of each patient.

Goal#1: The Number Of New Patients You Want

In managing your dentist practices, set goals on the number of new patients you want to have. For example, set the number of new patients that you would have for a month. Have this number in your mind, and this can help you target a specific number of patients at a fixed rate in a month (say 3 patients in a month). Then you will be able to add more new patients to those fixed numbers of new patients (say from the fixed number of 3, now you will be able to have 4 to 5 patients in a month, or even more).

Goal#2: The Type of Patients You Want To Attract

Determine the type of new patients that you want to attract in managing your dentist practices. These could vary from patients coming from different kinds of status and professions. These patients can be lawyers, accountants, etc. This would help you set up the income that you would like to have in a month; based on how much you would charge for this type of patient,. depending on his/her status and profession.

Goal#3: The Number Of Referrals You Want To Generate

Make it a point in managing your dentist practices that you will be able to satisfy your new patients with your services. If they are satisfied, there would be a very big possibility that the number of patients that you have set for in a month will increase in number.. and this is through their referrals, which are your patient's friends, relatives, and acquaintances.

Goal#4: The Worth Of Each Patient

Set the price for each patient, or what the “lifetime value of each patient” is. For example, for your patients who are accountants you would charge them $900; for your patients who are lawyers you would charge them $950; etc. Having this in managing your dentist practices can help you set up how much income you would have within a month, and within a year as well.

So, always remember these goals as you go on with your dental practice. Having a good gameplan in managing your dentist practices will always help you to make it to the top of your business!
